Tour Operators Association of Assam (TOAA) is the apex body of tourism businesses in Assam. And the organization celebrated its 13th Annual Convention on Saturday. Represntatives of several tourism related businesses attended the event from across the state. The meeting was organized in a resort in the city and many major as well as small tour operators participated in the same.
The gathering of tourism professionals discussed a range of topics. Problems and prospects of the tourism sector were the key areas of discussion. Senior members of the sector shared their experiences with the new players. The attendees also discussed new avenues as well as the changes in the market. The office bearers of the organization were also present for the 13th Annual Convention.
Several students of the tourism sector also participated in the event. They too put forward their questions and took knowledge from the veterans in the sector. The 13th Annual Convention of the Tour Operators Association of Assam was designed to be a bridge between the academicians and the industrialists of the sector.
The representatives of the Sonapur College took part in the event. The college has a Travel and Tourism Management Department. Representatives of the Assam Mountaineering Association were also present. The association also facilitated the proprietors of Alfresco Grand for services. Alfresco Grand is a key player and torch bearer in the river tourism sector of the region.
The event saw multiple opportunities for networking between the attendees. And it concluded with a cocktail dinner for all the participants.
Tour Operators Association of Assam was formed in 2009 with the aim to unite all stakeholders of the tourism sectors of the state. The key goal of the association is to promote the tourism sector of Assam and the entire Northeast India.
