The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), commonly called Amul has decided to increase the prices of milk by Rs. 2 per litre. And this decision comes to effect from tomorrow, that is the 1st of March.
The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, working under the name Amul is one of the largest milk producers and sellers of the country. It has a market hold in almost all parts of India. Not only the name of the brand, but also its products like milk, butter and specialized flavored milk are household now names. Being the starting point of the White Revolution, it remains one of biggest dairy brands of the country.
This is the second time that the brand has increased the price of milk in 2021-2022 financial year. The increase in the prices is said to meet the increased prices of power and products in the market. The dairy farmers registered with the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation will also receive higher value for owing to this price hike.
The West Assam Milk Union Limited had also increased its prices in the month of August. The aim was to provide more value to the dairy farmers of the state.
