Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed the North East India Business Council (NEIBC)in an online meeting today via a recorded video. He highlighted the need of involvement of the Assamese people living outside the country in the development of the state and country.
The North East India Business Council constitutes of people living all over the world. The common key is that all the members either have their roots in Northeast India or some other tie with the place. Members constitute of businessmen, educationalists, researchers and public servants in different departments. And they have come together to enable the businesses and entrepreneurs of from the region. The meeting also revealed the teams and along with their various responsibilities of the NEIBC.
US President’s Lifetime Achievement Awards were also announced for seven Assamese people with exceptional service to humanity, in the same meeting. The awards will be handed over to the dignitaries in an event to be held in the USA in October. NEIBC is also going to organize the 1st Business Growth Workshop. It is a three day event towards recognizing and training entrepreneurs from Northeast India.
Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated the members on the establishment of this organization. He mentioned the natural, agricultural and tourism resources of the state. He also requested them to visit their motherland and see how they can contribute to the further growth. The CM also emphasized on how the state has developed in terms of infrastructure. And skilled manpower is taking the state towards becoming an industrial hub.
