A memorandum of understanding was signed today between the Assam Tourism Development Corporation and Indian Hotels Company Ltd. Tourism minster of Assam, Jayanta Mallabaruah signed the MOU in the presence of Bodoland Territorial Region chief, Pramod Boro. And the aim is to create a new hotel property near the Manas National Park. As per decision, a Ginger Hotel will be set up at the Bashbari region near the park.
Located in the Bodoland Territorial Region, Manas National Park is one of the popular tourist destinations of the state. It offers a beautiful jungle landscape for all travelers and enthusiasts visiting the location. Tourists can also enjoy traditional ethnic cuisines of the Bodo tribe when they visit this location.
Although a variety of accommodation services are available in the vicinity of the park, a star grade hotel was missing in the region. Guwahati which is located about 130 kilometers away has the nearest star quality hotel. Although rustic local cuisines are available nearby, a proper fine dine experience equally far away. Due to these two key problems, a large number of high paying tourists decide against visiting this region.
The decision to create this new property was taken under the Assam Tourism Policy 2022 by the state cabinet. Setting up of a new hotel project by the Indian Hotels Company Ltd. will encourage the influx of foreign tourists into the region. This will not only benefit the local administration, but also increase employment opportunities. It will also encourage more corporate events in the region.
