Assam’s homegrown milk cooperative brand Purabi Dairy has opened a new format Purabi Parlor in Guwahati. This outlet will serve all the products of Purabi Dairy in a single store. Assam’s Minister of Co-operation, Nandita Garlosa formally inaugurated the Purabi Parlor by cutting the ribbon. Maninder Singh, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Government of Assam also attended this event. Several dairy farmers of the state, who are also beneficiaries of the Purabi Dairy also attended this event.
This new Purabi Parlor has a very modern layout. Apart from the ease of buying for all age groups, it also provides the customers the option of an in-shop cafe. Meaning that this cafe provides the opportunity for people to enjoy their choice at the outlet itself. The officials mentioned that this store is an indication regarding the transformation of Purabi Dairy into a modern brand. It aims to serve the consumers of the region and specially appeal to the youth of the city. All while meeting the aspirations of the dairy farmers of the state. Based around the cafetaria concept this Purabi Parlour will sell a variety of dairy based products.
These include several hot and cold beverages as well as snacks from brands other than Purabi Dairy. This outlet is a special prototype supported by the National Dairy Development Board. It falls under the “Rejuvenation of Promising Producer Owned Institutions” scheme. Assam Agribusiness and Transformation Project (APART) has also supported in protest. WAMUL has announced that similar booths will be set up in several major cities and towns across Assam. This will not only help the brand with penetrating the markets of the state, but also the consumers to chose among several options. And overall increase the income of the dairy farmers from across Assam.
