Fresh pineapples produced in Assam are now showcased and sold in the Lulu Hyper Market of Dubai. This sale has been organised by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority and the Lulu group.
This consignment of fresh and organic pineapples showcased in the supermarket were sourced from the Cachar district of Assam. Assam is one of the largest pineapple producing states of the country. And exporting the produce will definitely earn a much better value in the Dubai markets compared to the local ones. Also people across the world can now taste the organic produce from the state.
Previously a similar event organised in the month of April, tender jackfruit grown in the state was also showcased. The jackfruit and chilli in that consignment for export was grown in the Dhubri district of Assam. Also litchis from the state were exported to Britain this year.
The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority has been working towards the promotion and value addition of the traditional agricultural produce of the state. Fresh and organic fruits and vegetables are of very high demand in European and Arab markets. And the Northeasten part of the country has the perfect conditions for growing such produce.
