The West Assam Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Ltd. has decided to increase the prices of all its milk varieties with effect from the 25th of April. The prices have been increased by Rs. 2 per litre or Re. 1 per half litre pack.
The West Assam Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Ltd. or WAMUL is popularly known as the Purabi Dairy. Based in Guwahati, it is one of the largest milk based brands of Northeast India. It markets milk in many variants based on their composition. They are Purabi Standard in half liter packs, Purabi Smart in half liter packs, Purabi Smart Plus in half liter and one liter packs and Purabi Gold in one liter pouches.
The new maximum retail price of Purabi Standard is Rs. 31 and Purabi Smart is Rs. 29 for half a liter. Purabi Smart Plus will be available at Rs 30 and Rs 60 for half and one liter packs respectively. Purabi Gold will now cost Rs. 67 per liter.
Purabi Dairy had previously increased the prices in the month of August last year. A press release from the brand cited the increases in the prices of transportation, processing and packages as the reason of this increase in prices.
