The largest dairy cooperative in the Northeastern region, Purabi Dairy has announced the release of additional funds as procurement price. Officials at Purabi Dairy announced that the dairy cooperative will release an amount of Rs 1.47 crore. This amount will serve as the additional milk procurement price for the dairy farmers of the state.
The West Assam Milk Producers’ Co-operative Union Ltd. (WAMUL) operates the Purabi Dairy brand. And they have announced that this decision to release Rs 1.47 crore will benefit thousands of dairy farmers. Also, it will significantly boost the income of the dairy farmers of the state.
The statement also mentioned that this decision will go a long way in strengthening the rural economy. And give extra benefits to the 25,000-strong network of dairy farmers in the state. The steps taken during the festive season will encourage the farmers to adopt scientific dairying techniques. Thus, helping the mission of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, right from the grassroots level.
