Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has called for some restrictions on the sale of non-vegetarian food items in the state on Monday. The Pran Pratistha ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will take place on Monday, January 22. The Chief Minister has called for the restrictions to mark the occasion.
Himanta Biswa Sarma has called for the curtailing of the sale of non-vegetarian dishes in eateries across the state. This restriction will be in play from early morning till 2 PM on Monday.
A similar restriction is in place on the sale of raw meat and fish as well. The chief minister has called for the opening of such shops only after 4 PM on Monday. This regulation is valid for all shops selling varieties of meat and fishes and other items. These include the slaughter houses in the city as well.
It must be noted that the Assam government had already declared dry day on January 22 for the same reason.
The Chief Minister of Assam has also called to all the government and private institution to pay due respect on the occasion. Himanta Biswa Sarma told the citizens to light earthen lamps or diyas to be a part of the celebration.
