In view of the third phase of Assembly Elections in Assam, the Kamrup Metropolitan District has announced dry days in the district from 6 pm of 04/04/21 to 6 pm of 06/04/21.
The decision has been taken to ensure smooth running of the voting process. As per the notification issued by the Office of Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup (M) District, the ban will include the day of counting votes which is fixed on 02/05/21 till the process of counting is over and including the day of Re-poll if any.
During this period of dry days, any sale, possession and distribution of liquor is completely prohibited.
All the wholesale/ bonded warehouses, Indian Made Foreign Liquor Retail “OFF” and “ON” shops including Club “ON”, Hotel “ON” and Country spirit shops located in the district will remain closed during this period.
Any violation of the above will be dealt into stringent action as per law, further stated the notification.
