In a noble attempt, Mumbai’s Sion Friends Circle group distributed food and books to children in need dressed as Doraemon and other cartoon characters.
The group came forward to lend a helping to the people in need during this trying time. The members of the groups dressed themselves as cartoon characters like Doraemon, Mickey Mouse and distributed the essentials among poor children.
Ashok Kurmi, the president of the group, said, “As the schools are closed due to corona virus and students are bored sitting at homes, so we have come up with new ideas to distract students from this pandemic situation. We all have dressed up in their favorite cartoon characters like Disney, Micky Mouse, elephants and other famous cartoon characters to distribute study material to them.”
“They enjoyed a lot by watching us and this inspires these students, we are not stopping here at Sion only, We will go to many slums areas in Mumbai to distribute study materials to the students as this is a difficult time for them too,” he added.
This is not the first time when this group stepped forward to provide aids to under previledged people. Earlier the group had also set up a mobile book house in Sion which provided free books.
Also, the group provided study materials to nearly 500 poor children in Mumbai during the Lockdown 4.0.
