The Gujarat government on Monday ordered closure of restaurants, pan shops, tea stalls after 10 pm in eight wards of Ahmedabad including Jodhpur, Navrangpura, Bodakdev, Thaltej, Gota, Paldi, Ghatlodia and Maninagar.
Along with these establishments, the authorities have also ordered closure of Malls, showrooms, hair saloons at the mentioned time.
The decision was taken in the wake of the rising cases of Covid-19 by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. As reported by ANI, Manechowk Food and Beverage Market and Raipur Food and Beverage Market will also be closed.
As stated by Union Health Ministry, Gujarat is among the few states in the country reporting a daily surge in Covid-19 cases. The ministry also stated that Gujarat along with Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu account for 78.41 per cent of the new cases in the country.
