COVID warriors across the world are often felicitated with gifts as well as essential items including medicines, nutritious food items, health drinks etc. to boost their morale. Several NGOs and organizations have also come forward to provide essential aids to the needy ones. However, a recent relief drive in India became the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons when a minister distributed Kurkure and Doritos among Covid warriors .
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, G Kishan Reddy became a stock of laughter after he donated chips as relief material to be distributed among the COVID warriors. The chips packets including Doritos and Kurkure were distributed to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Delhi unit on Saturday.
Delhi BJP Chief Adesh Gupta took to Twitter to share that the party was delivering ‘Khadya Samagri’ (food items) with the help of Minister of State for Home, G Kishan Reddy. He further said that this would also be distributed to the municipal workers and police officials.
The distribution of Doritos and Kurkure has however met the criticism of different sections of of public across the country calling it a very insensitive action by those in the government. Many have claimed that distributing something more useful would have been better.
