The officials distributed 14 bee boxes with bee hives among selected farmers of the village on the occasion. More than a hundred local farmers participated in this event. KVK Nagaon colaborated with Noipam Agro Producer Company Ltd. for this project.
With the availability of vast forest resources in the state, Assam has a huge scope for apiculture. Especially during the winter season, when the mustard crops are in full bloom, several businesses from outside the state migrate their bee hives to the state. Local farmers and entrepreneurs are not able to take the full benefit out of the resources as of now.
