Maharashtra Government has allowed the restaurants to reopen from October 5 with 50 per cent occupancy. The state government has also issued SOPs to be followed by the restaurants and customers.
As per the guidelines, only asymptomatic customers will be allowed in restaurants. All the customers will be screened at the entry points for symptoms of Covid-19 such as temperature, cough and cold etc. Those with temperature more than 38.0 C (100.4 F) and/or flu like symptoms shall not be permitted. The order encouraged the service providers to be empathetic towards such visitors while advising to return.
Payment via digital mode for purchase to be encouraged as much as possible. Masks are mandatory for customers and hand sanitizers must be made available for the customers.
The order also encouraged to serve only cooked food and to avoid inclusion of raw or cold food like salads etc. as far as possible. Buffet service is not permitted. Guests have been requested to make prior reservations to avoid crowding.
Maharashtra has been one of the worst hit states of Covid-19 in India. More than 4 lakhs restaurants, hotels and bars will be reopening on October 5 after a gap of about 6 months.
