New Delhi  to host the 2nd Meghalaya Pineapple Festival 2024

Delhi: The Government of Meghalaya is organizing the 2nd Meghalaya Pineapple Festival 2024 at Dilli Haat, New Delhi. Celebrating Meghalaya’s delicious Kew Pineapples and rich agricultural produce, the 2nd edition of this festival will take place from 10th July to 14th July 2024. Following the success of the first edition of the festival, Meghalaya’s Kew Pineapples have received not only national but also international prominence with the recent export of 3.5 million tonnes of state-grown pineapples to the Middle East in June 2024.

Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma, Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of Meghalaya, Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh, Commissioner and Secretary of the Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Department, Govt. of Meghalaya, Dr Vijay Kumar D, officials of the APEDA, along with key entrepreneurs and farmers of Meghalaya will be grace the 2nd Meghalaya Pineapple Festival 2024 in New Delhi.

Kew Pineapples are called Meghalaya’s jewel and are a true treasure to the state. Different efforts of the Government of Meghalaya have been instrumental in preserving, promoting and thus presenting the key products to national and international markets.

Dates for 2nd Meghalaya Pineapple Festival 2024

The Government of Meghalaya thus invites the public to taste the most exquisite and delicious varieties of state-grown pineapples at the Dilli Haat, New Delhi from 11th July to 14th July 2024. Also, distinct groups of farmers will visit various locations on different days including the Azadpur Mandi, and Mother Dairy Facilities at Mangolpuri, among others.

Recently, Chief Minister visited the Safal outlets that are all set to provide the farmers and entrepreneurs, with the required exposure and market. The festival will not only have the pineapples in display but also the stories of pineapple growers and entrepreneurs, whose produce has received regional, national and international attention, in conversations.

Apart from the twelve different stalls by the farmers and entrepreneurs from Meghalaya, the festival will have a dedicated stall serving authentic Meghalayan cuisine so that the ones in attendance can have a taste of Meghalaya’s local cuisine.
