North East Dairy and Foods Ltd is a new joint venture company. Its first board meeting was held in its registered office on the premises of the West Assam Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Ltd in Guwahati. The gathering discussed the major matters about the functioning of the new joint venture company.
Minister Nandita Gorlosa is the Chairperson of the new company. Chairman of the National Dairy Development Board, Meenesh C Shah is on the Board of Directors for the company. Several other officials from various departments are also on the board of this organisation. All board members attended the first board meeting of the new company.
The North East Dairy and Foods Ltd is a new joint venture between the Government of Assam and the National Dairy Development Board. Both have equal share capital contribution in the new brand incorporated on the 17th of January this year. Meenesh C Shah handed over the certificate of incorporation of this new company to Nandita Gorlosa.
The aim of the new brand is to launch Assam Dairy Development Plan in mission mode. It will make the plans for the operation and implementation of this this comprehensive program for dairy development. The National Dairy Development Board and the Government of Assam jointly designed this plan. And aims to make Assam self sufficient in terms of production, processing and marketing of milk and dairy products.
