Pernod Ricard, Diageo Not Receiving Orders from Indian Defense Canteen Stores

According to a report by Reuters, Pernod Ricard and Diageo have stopped receiving orders from Indian Defense Canteen stores. These two brands are the world’s biggest spirit makers. Their products were sold at a concessional price at the Defense canteens of India.

This move has been assumed to be on the lines of the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under this campaign, Modi urged the people of India to be self-reliant by promoting indigenous products.
