Purabi Dairy, the most popular dairy in the Northeastern part of the country has announced incentives for its dairy farmers. While the procuring rate has been increased to Rs 39, an additional incentive of Re 1 has been given. This increase in procuring cost will remain in force till January next year.
According to the announcement made by the milk cooperative, the incentive period is from 11th December 2022 to 20th January 2023. During this period, the farmers will receive Rs 40 per kg of milk. The previous rate paid by the organization is Rs 37 as a base rate per kg. This value is for milk having 4% Fat and 8.5% SNF. The statement also mentioned that dairy farmers selling better quality milk will be paid more than this rate. Post-January 20, the farmers will receive Rs 39 per kilo.
“We are happy to provide added benefits to our pourers who will now get Rs 2 per kg guaranteed hike in milk rates for 4% fat and 8.5% SNF milk. As the consumption of milk and milk products increases in the Bihu season, so does the demand for milk. To give the dairy farmers a part of the profit from this heightened demand, the organization has announced the incentive.
