A Naga meal is incomplete without a rustic chutney using local and exotic vegetables and often has high heat. Here is a simple Naga chutney recipe made of banana blossom. It is super easy to make and delicious as well as healthy to consume.
Preparation time : 30 minutes.
Cooking time : 20 minutes.
Cuisine : Indian ( North East).
Taste : Spicy.
Ingredients
- Banana flower – 1
- Tomato – 1 large
- Onion – 1 large
- Ghost pepper – 1
- Turmeric powder – 1/ 2 tsp
- Mustard oil – 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Method of Preparation
- Remove the top layer of the banana blossom and chopped the rest into fine pieces.
- Slice the onion and tomato.
- Chop the ghost pepper.
- Heat oil in a pan add sliced onion and saute for sometime.
- Add the chopped ghost pepper and sliced tomato and saute for 2 minutes.
- Next add the turmeric powder and stir for sometime.
- Add chopped banana flower and cook till it become tender and the water dries.
The Banana Blossom Chutney or Naga Chutney is ready to served with a plate of hot steamed rice.
