The trend of Influencer is currently booming in the current time. With some followers and some fame on social media, being an ‘Influencer’ is not a very tough task. In certain cases the game becomes a bit annoying as well as unhealthy when the influencers aim for free services in exchange for ‘promoting’ products or services.
A Pub/restaurant in United Kingdom tried to teach a lesson to one such ‘Influencer’ who was eyeing at free meals in exchange for promotion of the pub on his Instagram account.
As reported by ladible, a Pub in London posted the conversation between them and this social media influencer about their exchange. The influencer asked for several free takeaway meals and wrote ‘in exchange for this I’ll be happy to advertise you via my Instagram stories’.
“Alongside a swipe up link if you have a website to direct my followers to your website in the hope of it leading to an order? Let me know if keen?” the influencer further said.
The pub sensed the game and decided to play a prank on the influencer. They gave him an address where he could come directly and takeaway the free meals. When provided address led the guy to a police station instead. When he reached there and informed the restaurant, the team replied, “”Magic – go in there and report yourself for crimes against the hospitality industry”.
Following the incident, the restaurant posted the entire episode on their social media pages. A large share of netizens lauded the restaurant’s prank and had a good laugh.
