The FERNS Society, a city based Non Government Organisation, undertook a sapling distribution drive for the people working in the telecom sector for keeping everyone connected during the Covid-19 global pandemic. The initiative was carried out in the week preceding the Teacher’s Day on the 5th of September.
Indians celebrate the 5th of September as the Teacher’s Day. It commemorates the birthday of the first Vice President and the second President of India, Bharat Ratna Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. People take this day as an opportunity to thank each and everyone who taught them something. And The Ferns Society put this occasion to perfect use.
As a token of gratitude and appreciation, the FERNS Society gifted saplings and a card towards the Covid Warriors of the Telecom sector. As a part of the emergency services, these people worked in the risk of infections despite lockdowns. Only to keep everyone connected to each other through the calls and internet when it was impossible to go out.
“Survival would have been way more difficult if your mobiles and laptops had shown no signal during the lockdown. So we are must all be thankful for the services of the brave people of the telecom sector.”
