Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb lauds the efforts of the local farmers of the state producing Queen Pineapples. The Queen Pineapple of Tripura also has a GI Tag.
The Chief Minister on Monday took to twitter to praise the farmers who have been working hard to provide organic and fresh fruits to the people. Deb informed that he’s elated to receive these organic pineapples. Each of these pineapples weighs about 2.5 KG and produces more than 1 litre of juice.
The Tripura Government will continue to support the farmers for doubling their income by the year end, stated the Chief Minister.
Tripura has been utilizing its local pineapple produce to boost immunity among the people of the state. Under the Mukhyamantri Corona Pratirodh Abhiyan Pineapple and pineapple juice is being distributed among people across the state every Saturday.
This scheme aims to boost immunity of people of the state to fight Covid-19. As Vitamin-C helps in improving the immune system, lemon and lemon juice along with pineapple has also been distributed. The government buys the fruits from the local farmers. This way, the local farmers are getting the benefit and the people of the state are also getting fresh organic fruits.
