Food delivery giant Zomato has introduced a new feature for both iPhone and Android app users for Covid-19 emergency. This feature enables the users to order food during emergency which will be prioritized and will be assigned to the ‘fastest rider’ based on the location.
As per reports, the Covid-19 emergency deliveries will be contactless and customers will also get dedicated customer support.
The feature will be available for the orders from those restaurants which have signed up for this emergeny facility. After adding the item to the cart, customers will see an option saying, “This order is related to a COVID-19 emergency” and the customer has to click the checkbox. Once done, the order will be treated as an emergency order.
While adding the option, Zomato has also urged the users to not misuse it and use the option only for a genuine emergency.
Founder of Zomato Deepinder Goyal took to Twitter to share information about this option and said, “…along with thousands of our restaurant partners, we just rolled out a “priority delivery for covid emergencies” feature on the Zomato app. This option will allow our customers to mark *This order is related to a COVID-19 emergency* option during checkout.”
