All Educational Institutions in Diphu to Remain Closed for a Week

Increasing number of cases of dengue fever across the state of Assam has become a major case of concern for the health department. In order to control further spread of the illness, all educational institutions in Diphu will remain close this week.

A report from the National Health Mission revealed 285 cases positive cases in the state. Out of them, 271 were from the Karbi Anglong district of the state. Several of them have been shifted to the Guwahati Medical College Hospital for better treatment. The medical examinations were conducted between the 1st and 5th of November.

All educational institutions falling within the Diphu Municipal Board and the Greater Diphu Town will remain closed this week. According to reports, this step is being taken as a preventive measure to prevent an “impending epidemic” of dengue fever in the state.

The following are the symptoms dengue.

  • High fever is the primary symptom.
  • Nausea and indigestion are also important symptoms .
  • Ache in joints and muscles also occur.
  • Eye pain , specially in the back of their eyes
  • Rashes also take place sometimes.

    The health department of the state is working towards preventing any more infections in the state. Apart from stocking medical supplies, public awareness programs have also been initiated.
