The National Highways Authority of India has started four types of ambulances of the safety and security of all the users of the national highways of the country. These ambulances will operate alongside the new 1033 helpline announced by the NHAI.
There will be four different types of ambulances created to operate on the national highways across the country. They are divided based on the different levels of care that they can offer. The different vehicles are as follows.
- Medical First Responders
- Patient Transport Vehicles
- Basic Life Support Ambulance
- Advanced life Support Ambulance
The first category will be equipped with only basic first aid facilities and will be quickest to respond and access the situation when any emergency happens. The second kind will be used for the transport patients to the nearest or the best suited hospital. The third kind will deal with severe injuries which can not immediately under life threatening conditions. The last kind will be equipped with specialized doctors and equipment to handle severe emergencies which are life threatening and needs immediate attention and action.
The National Highways Authority of India also launched the 1033 Helpline in order to provide support during any kind of problem on the national highways of India.
