The Kamrup Metro Yogasana Sports Association had organised the Online Kamrup Metro Yogasana Competition from the 5th, 6th and 7th of August 2021. This event was organised to spread awareness and inspire the youth to practice the art of Yoga.
The completions were held within a total of ten different categories. Five for male and five for female participants. The youngest category for girls was for participants younger than or 9 years to veteran ladies of age 27 years or more. For the boys category youngest category was upto the veteran gents category of 28 years or more.
The winners of all categories will then compete for the titles of Yoga Kumar and Kumari for the groups below 20 years and Yoga Samat and Samragi for those above 20 years.
Mrigesh Thakuria and Snehshikha Das secured the Yoga Kumar and Yoga Kumari positions respectively. And Prabin Das and Angshumani Deka were awarded the Yoga Samrat and Yoga Samragi respectively for their expertise in Yoga.
The Kamrup Metro Yogasana Sports Association is affiliated to the Yogasana Sports Association, Assam and affiliated to the National Yogasana Sports Federation. This competition is also recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
