Hare Krishna Mandir concluded their 4 day celebration of Sri Krishna Janmashtami today. And as expected by the management, the event drew a huge number of devotees.
Few days back representatives of the Hare Krishna Movement had announced that this year the special event will be celebrated in a grand way. The celebration itself lasted for 4 days from the 18th to the 21st of August 2022. Hundreds of volunteers and members of the organisation enabled the smooth functioning and co-ordination.
The 4 day celebration managed to see a footfall of about 70,000 devotees. Most of them were from the city of Guwahati, while a few came from outside the region as well. Several celebrities and special personalities also visited the Janmastami celebration this year. Assam Governor, Jagdish Mukhi also graced the celebrations on the 20th of August.
Around 40,000 full meals were served to devotees who visited during the lunch and dinner time. Apart from that, around 30,000 devotees received Kheer or Khichidi as the prasad of the celebration. A major part of the visiting devotees also purchased dry prasad to take it back to their families. Also many more took books and other products for own usage or as gifts to their friends and family.
