The 131st edition of the famed Durand Cup kicked off today in Kolkata between the Mohammedan SC and FC Goa. And Mohammedan SC won the opening match in front of 12000 + crowd. The first match ever of the Durand Cup in Northeast India is scheduled for tomorrow evening. The first match in the region will be held in the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium Guwahati. It will be between Northeast United FC, the home team of the region and visiting Odisha FC. The match kicks off by 6 in the evening.
A cultural presentation is also scheduled to be held before the match kicks off. The bands from the armed forces will perform in this event. Popular artists Angarag Papon Mahanta and Rewben Mashangwa will also present the tournament theme song of the event in the cultural presentation. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is expected to be present for the event along with senior officers of the Armed Forces.
Tickets for all the matches of the Durand Cup will be available phase wise on the BookMyShow website and the venue. Tickets for the matches in Guwahati will be charged at Rs. 50, Rs. 100 and Rs. 250. Those in Imphal will cost Rs. 50, Rs. 100 and Rs. 300. Live broadcast of the matches are also available on Sports18 and Voot.
