Hare Krishna Mandir invites devotees for Janmashtami

The Hare Krishna Movement Guwahati is organizing Sri Krishna Janmashtami in a grand way this year and has invited devotees from the entire region to be a part of the same In the Hare Krishna Mandir. The 20th will be also be celebrated as the 126th birthday of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Praphupada, the founder of Hare Krishna Movement.

This year the Hare Krishna Mandir will celebrate the Sri Krishna Janmashtami with a four day festival. The events start from tomorrow and end on the 21st of August. A variety of programs will be organised as part of this grand celebration. A heritage festival to spread awareness about Lord Krishna will be hosted in the first part of the day. This will have several games and competitions for young children. Afternoons will see the performance of several artists in the cultural program. Visitors will also be able to buy gifts and decorations with religious value. However the highlight of the celebration will be the Abhishekam of the lord on the 19th night. Naam Jaap will carry on throughout the day.

All devotees will be able to avail prasad facilities at the temple. Simple khichdi and kheer will be available throughout the day and evening. Full meals have also been organised for those visiting during the noon or night. People can also make offering to the Lord Krishna in various forms as wished by them. Offerings can also be in form of Pushpa Abhishekam at Rs. 250 and Annadanam Seva at Rs. 500.

Last year the Hare Krishna Mandir hosted around 40000 devotees during the festival amidst Covid threats. This year the organisation is expecting no less than 100000 visitors.
