Assam‘s World Heritage site Manas National Park reopened on Friday for tourists keeping in with the 66th Wildlife week. The reopening was done by Chief Conservator of Forest AM Singh. Reportedly, the Park has been opened for both domestic and foreign tourists.
The tourist hotspot closed its doors for the visitors from March 17 owing to the outbreak of Covid-19. Wearing of masks is mandatory for the tourists and social distancing must be maintained to contain the spread of the virus. As per reports, only three persons will be allowed in the jeep safari which is a popular attraction in the park.
To ensure the safety of the tourists, the authorities have taken all the necessary measures including santisation of vehicles, lodges etc.
Manas is a national park, UNESCO Natural World Heritage site, a Project Tiger reserve, an elephant reserve and a biosphere reserve in Assam, India. It is a popular tourist spot in the state. As per reports the Park earned a revenue of Rs 84,31,539 from 42,773 domestic tourists and Rs 6,48,263 from 628 foreign tourist during the last financial year.
