The Maa Kamakhya Devalaya authorities have issued a set of regulations for the upcoming Ambubachi Mahayoga. This year the Ambubachi Mahayoga starts at 2:30 AM on the 23rd of June and ends on June 26. The temple doors will remain closed on 23, 24 and 25 June. The temple doors will be opened for devotees after traditional Snan and Nitya Puja. Also, no special tickets will be available on June 26 and 27. VIP/VVIP passes will not be issued on June 26.
There will be no free lodging camps or free food distribution for devotees in and around Nilachal Hill. Authorities will set up drinking water facilities, resting sheds, medical camps and footwear counters.
Authorities will not permit devotes to enter the Nilachal Hill between 9 PM and 6 AM. Temple authorities have also requested devotees not to take small children and old people for the festival. Also, the entire Nilachal Hill is a no smoking zone for the festival days. Authorities will not allow people under the influence of alcohol or drugs on the hill during Ambubachi Mahayog.
Devotees can enter the temple complex and perform parikrama and exit via the east and west gate. But there will be no arrangements for keeping shoes in the Devalaya complex. So the temple committee has asked the devotees to leave their footwears in the stalls on the road.
They have installed a total 400 CCTV cameras for the festival. They have engaged 100 temporary cleaners above 200 regular ones. These people will work towards keeping the premises clean round the clock. 500 scouts and guides will work towards helping the devotees in multiple fields. 100 private security personnel along with the 120 regular security personnel will take care of the safety. 400 additional volunteers will be working in different capacities during the festival. The temple committee will make the arrangements for food for these service providers.
The district administration will ensure round the clock water and power supply. They will also take care of medical, toilet, security and other necessary facilities. They will make temporary arrangements in the Bongshibagan area on June 26 for devotees.
