Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra to be celebrated in North Guwahati

Hare Krishna Mandir in Guwahati will be organizing Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra. The event will take place in North Guwahati. The temple authorities will organize this yatra at 3 PM on 20th of June. It will start from the Hare Krishna Mandir and end at the Durga Mandir at Mandhyam Khanda

Also known as the Chariot Festival, this sacred event marks a divine journey of Lord Jagganath. The main celebration takes place in Puri of Odisha. Lord Jagganath is accompanied by Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra on specially made chariots for this journey. Different organisations celebrations this events across the globe to mark the occasion. 

During the event, the deities will be seated on elaborately decorated chariots. These will be pulled by the devotees along the designated route. Devotees will also chant devotional songs and perform dance and music alongside the chariots.

The organizers of the Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra have invited everyone to be a part of the event. And to experience unity in diversity and the cultural richness of the country.

Ending Point: Durga Mandir, Madhya Khanda North Guwahati.

Several organisations will organize Sri Jagganath Rath Yatra in other parts of the Guwahati city as well. Among other places, one will take place in Jayanagar and another in Paltan Bazar. Devotees as well as onlookers will be able to offer their prayers and seek the blessings. The police and district administration will be giving the due permissions for conducing these processions
