In order to maintain law and order in the city of Guwahati during Chhath Puja, police has issued a list of traffic restrictions for 30 and 31 October. These restrictions will be active from 1 PM of October 30 till the departure of devotees from the venues and from 1 AM of October 31 till the departure of the worshipers depart.
Chhath Puja traffic restrictions are as follows :
1. Only the vehicles with devotees will be allowed on MG Road between Apollo Point to Cotton Collegiate School Point.
2. All vehicles from Shantipur towards Panbazar and Chandmari will be diverted at Apollo Point towards HB Road via TRP Road. Then from NB Hall Point, vehicles will take a left turn and move through FC Road, Tayabullah Road and GNB road.
3. All vehicles from Silpukhuri side towards Panbazar, Bharalumukh and Jalukbari will be diverted at TC point via District Library, RBI Point and thereafter take left turn at Panbazar Overbridge North Point towards Panbazar Overbridge South Point, and move via AT Road towards Athgoan flyover to Bharalumukh and Jalukbari.
4. The light vehicles from TC Point via GNB Road towards Panbazar and Fancy Bazar will be diverted via MLN Road and HB road.
5. All light vehicles from the Uzanbazar and Latasil traveling towards Bharalumukh will divert via BC Road, Tayabullah Road, GNB Road and AT Road.
6. All City Buses coming from Khanapara towards Bharalumukh, Jalukari shall be diverted via AT Road from Panbazar Overbridge South Point.
7. Heavy vehicles including inter district buses operating under ASTC (except city buses and vehicles carrying devotees) coming from Jalukbari will not be allowed to enter into the city via Jalukbari point. All these vehicles shall be diverted towards ISBT via NH-27 at Jalukbari.
8. From NH-27, Chandrapur, Panikhaiti side, entry of commercial goods carrying vehicles inside the city shall be restricted from 9 AM of 30.10.2022 to 9 AM of 31.10.2022.
