Booking for Additional Special Trains Begins

Indian Railways started bookings for the additional 80 special trains from Thursday. The announcement to run the additional special trains from September 12 was made a few days earlier.

A Vande Bharat Express, a Shatabdi and a weekly Shramik Special are also included among the additional trains.

Tickets for these specials can be booked through the official website of IRCTC–https://www.irctc.co.in/ and also through the official IRCTC mobile application

These will run on key routes connecting various various states including Assam and Tripura in the Northeast.

The Ministry of Railways is also planning to run ‘clone trains’ which are supposed to run ahead of the ones having long waiting lists for more than week.

The Railway Ministry has suspended regular passenger trains due to the ongoing pandemic. As per a report, the Railways will incur an estimated loss of Rs 40,000 crore in the passenger business.

With the reboot of this transport service, a major portion of working class Indians can commute to their place of work from home at an affordable price. Railways remain one of the cheapest modes of transportation in the huge country, hence a lifeline to the huge sector of labor class.
