India has completed one year since the start of COVID-19 vaccination in the country. And India Post, the national postal and logistical organisation has issued a commemorative stamp to mark this event.
This stamp was revealed by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minster of Health and Family Welfare. Devusinh Chauhan, the Minster of State for Communications was also present in the event. Many eminent persons were part of this release via video conferencing.
The commemorative stamp is valued at Rs. 5.00. It shows a female front-line worker administering vaccine to a lady. It also mentions the Indian Council of Medical Research which is the apex medical body of the country. COvid-19 vaccine is also shown in the image.
As per the government records, in this one year, India has successfully administered 1,58,81,78,539 doses of COVID-19 vaccination. Out of these a total of 91,73,82,676 are first doses, 66,52,74,739 are second doses. India has also started administering a precautionary third dose of the vaccine to the front-line workers of the country. These include all medical and healthcare personnel of the country. Senior citizens are also eligible for this third dose given that a ninety days period has been over.
