Government of India on Saturday issued new guidelines for the fifth phase of lock down, Unlock 1. As per the guidelines by Ministry of Home Affairs, all earlier prohibited activities will be allowed to resume in a phased manner. However, the activities will remain prohibited in containment zones.
The unlocking will be done in three phases. In the first phase, religious places and places of worship for public; hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services; and shopping malls; will be permitted to open from June 8, 2020.
In the second phase of Unlock 1 Schools, colleges, educational/ training/ coaching institutions etc., will be opened after consultations with States and UTs.
In the phase three, dates for opening of International air travel of passengers; operation of Metro Rail; cinema halls, gymnasiums, swimming pools, entertainment parks etc will be decided based on assessment of the situation.
Movement of individuals shall remain strictly prohibited between 9 pm to 5 am throughout the country, except for essential activities.
Wearing of face masks in public places, workplaces and while travelling is mandatory. It is also compulsory to maintain a minimum 6 ft distance in public places even in Unlock 1.
So far, 11,264 COVID19 patients in India has been cured over the last 24 hours. India’s recovery rate has increased by 4.51 per cent to 47.40 per cent. Number of active patients declines from 89,987 to 86,422 as stated by government of India.
