Men Threw Trash on Road, Made to Drive Back 80 k.m.s & Clean It

How easy is it to just pull the car window down and throw something that is unwanted inside the moving car. While it’s easy for the ones sitting inside the car, it’s not so pleasant for those who thrive to keep the roads clean. Read ahead in case you think you can get away with throwing trash all the time!

In a recent incident in Karnataka two men committed a similar act by throwing pizza boxes out of the car and simply driving away. On noticing the act, the General Secretary of Kodagu Tourism Association, who had been thriving to keep the locality clean, decided to teach take action.

On investigating, a bill was found with the box with the phone number of the payer. The person was immediately called and asked to come back to the spot and clear the trash. As per reports, the person refused to return back although he apologized for his irresponsible act. However the Secretary was firm and called the police who too failed to bring them back to the spot. The local tourism team then took to social media and started a campaign also circulating the phone number.

As we all know the power of social media, the duo started getting calls asking them to clean the mess they created. The two guys finally realized their mistake and drove 80 k.m.s back to the spot and cleaned the litter.

This incident can be a lesson for of us who at some of time or the who have this habit of casually throwing away thrash on the road. Although it may not seem to be a big deal or serious crime, we should be responsible citizens and correct this kind of habit.
