Earlier, the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) urged the Nagaland Govt to reconsider the imposition of the Covid-19 cess.

Nagaland has imposed a Covid-19 cess on diesel by Rs 5 per litre and petrol and motor spirit by Rs 6 per litre starting from the midnight of April 28. It was the first state in the country to introduce such a levy.  The student body added that the cess imposed is ‘excessive’ and hence urged the state govt to reconsider their decison on the cess immediately without any delay.
