Guwahati: The 1st Assam LitArt Festival came to an end on Sunday, February 18. The 2-day event saw multiple fruitful panel discussions as well as experience-sharing sessions. Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta had formally inaugurated the event on Saturday.
The 2-day saw renowned action director Sham Kaushal with other veterans in the fields of literature, art, music and filmmaking. The event was graced by regional luminaries like Joi Barua, Adil Hussian and Kenny Basumatary. And national speakers like Pramod Pathak, and Karan Singh Rathor also shared their experiences. Multiple writers including Anuradha Sharma Pujari also attended the event. Well-known names from the musical arena – Maitrayee Patar and Ibson Laal Barua also attended the event.
Organised with the theme of Celebrating Plurality of Expressions, the event received a good number of attendees. Several panel discussions, workshops, book launches, exhibitions, interaction sessions etc were organised. Multiple cultural shows were also organised as part of the 1st Assam LitArt Festival. Apart from the participation of multiple well-known personalities from the state, the organisers also invited experts from multiple fields from other parts of the country.
The interaction sessions, workshops and discussions definitely benefited and inspired many of the attendees. And the organisers mentioned that they will conduct other events in the future. They also mentioned that this is the first event in the country to celebrate literature, art, filmmaking, music and crafts on one platform.
The 1st Assam LitArt Festival saw a number of events and announced several new initiatives. These include workshops to groom actors, stunt crew, writers, painters and enthusiasts from other fields. Workshops to handhold budding authors towards the publication of their manuscripts are also on the cards. Alongside, ways of marketing the books and taking them to the national level will also be discussed. They also aim to promote the crafts of the region nationwide by collaborating with local NGOs.
