The Hunar Haat is one of the biggest exhibition and sale events of home and small industry products in the whole country. And this year the city of Guwahati, the biggest city of Northeast is the host for this mega event. It started yesterday and will continue till the 20th of March.
This event is organised by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India in different locations of the country. The main aim of this event is to promote artisans of different art and culture forms under one roof. People can exhibit and sale their handicraft and hand-loom products, cuisines, and jewelry etc. in Hunar Haat. Traditional art forms in culture in the form of music and dance are also showcased. Apart from these, cultural shows and food outlets all are part of the event.
Guwahati is hosting the 38th edition of Hunar Haat in the Veterinary College grounds in Khanapara yesterday. The opening of the event was done by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. Members of Parliament Queen Oja and Bhubaneshwar Kalita were also present along with the minsters of the Assam Government – Chandra Mohan Patwari, Ashok Singhal and Ranjit Kumar Das.
