Guwahati, 20 February 2024: We are very glad to announce that Abhigyanm is ready to organise the 5th edition of the Adingiri Rashtriya Natyo Utsav 2024 with a three-day format from the 1st of March to the 3rd of March. This year the event will be organised in two locations of the city, ie. 1st and 2nd March at Abhigyanm Natyakhetro in Adingiri Hill, Sankardev Nagar, Maligaon and 3rd March in Pragjyoti ITA Centre, Machkhowa. The first four editions of the event were organised only at the Abhigyanm Natyakhetro in Maligaon.
A total of four plays and several workshops on theatre acting and related arts will be organised as a part of this edition of the event. The workshops aim to make the local people aware of the art of theatre in an open setting as well as to provide masterclasses for the enthusiasts by the experts in the field. Multiple experts from the sector will take the masterclasses into various aspects of acting and theatre art. The first and second-day events, ie March 1 (Friday) and March 2(Saturday), will be organised at the Abhigyanm Natyaketra while the day 3 events, ie March 3 (Sunday), will be organised at the ITA Machkhowa.
Schedule for the 5th edition of the Adingiri Rashtriya Natya Utsav 2024
The 5th edition of the Adingiri Rashtriya Natyo Utsav 2024 will showcase a total of four plays. On the opening day, which is Friday, ‘Menaka’ will be the first play to entertain the audience. Menaka is based on Homen Borgohain’s Matsyagandha. It has been presented by BA and written by Pakija Begum and Jimoni Choudhury while Pakija Begum directed this play. The theatre presentation will start at 6 PM.
Two plays will be presented on the second day of the event. The first play will be ‘To Kill or Not to Kill’ a play based on Shakespeare’s Hamlet and Medea. Presented by Arnav Art, Delhi, this will be a solo act by Jilmil Hazarika. And it has been directed by Ovliyakuli Khodjakuli from Uzbekistan. Also, this play will start at 5:30 PM on Saturday, March 2. The second play of the day will be ‘Gandhi vs Godse’ presented by Abhigyanm. It has been written, designed and directed by Ranhang Choudhury and the presentation will begin at 7 PM.
On the third day of the event on Sunday, one play will be presented by the organisers at 6 PM. ‘Tritiyo’ by Abhigyanm, which has been written, designed and directed by Ranhang Choudhury.
Abhigyanm invited everyone to come and enjoy the plays and attend the workshops on all three days of the event. And make the 5th edition of the Adingiri Rashtriya Natya Utsav 2024 a success.

Adingiri Rashtriya Natyo Utsav is an attempt not only to make the new generation aware of the art but also of nature to all the participants and visitors. Abhigyanm Natyakhetra, the home ground of the festival is a very beautiful location nestled in the Adingiri Hills giving a beautiful bird’s eye view of the Maligaon region and Narakasur Hills which has the world-renowned Shakti Peeth of Maa Kamakhya. Located in the midst of the lush greenery, the Abhigyanm Natyakhetra showcases the minimum possible invasion of nature. With the galleries being stairs cut into the hillside. And the use of tented accommodation, the setup aims to highlight the importance of nature.
