The Assam & Arunachal Pradesh Border Festival was organised today in the beautiful Bhalukpong region. This one day event aims to reinforce friendship and trade between the two neighboring states of Northeast India.
This event has been organised by the local authorities by the neighborliness districts in both states. Sonitpur from Assam and West Kameng from Arunachal Pradesh organised this celebration. The event saw the presence of multiple dignitaries from both the states. It will be hosted on the grounds of the Lal Bahadur Shastri High School located in the Bhalukpong region.
The Assam & Arunachal Pradesh Border Festival 2023 started off with a ceremonial flag hoisting. It was followed by competitions organised for various local games and sports from both the states. An exhibition and sale of local products and crafts was also organised at the venue of the celebration. A cultural celebration was also scheduled for the evening wherein Nahid Afrin from Assam and Jeli Kayi Tamin are scheduled to perform.
Assam Cabinet had recently taken the decision to host this Border Festival. The aim of this event was to foster the friendship and cooperation between the people of both the neighboring states, all while promoting trade and commerce between the states.
