Assam Down Town University attempts to set record by making Pastries

The Assam Down Town University attempted to set the national record by preparing a large consignment of pastries within the least possible time.

The team comprising of a total of 25 trainee chefs prepared a total of 517 pastries within the time of four hours. This team worked under the guidance of Jyotirmay Choudhury and Mridu Pawan Rabha. They not only prepared that number of item but also presented and made them ready to be served.

Named Team Lachit, this team comprised of students and staff of the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management of the Assam Down town University. And the aim of this team is to make its mark in the 2023 edition of the Limca Book of Records.

The name of the team has been inspired by the great general of the Ahom Kingdom, Lachit Borphukan. And this year marks 400 years since the birth of this experienced military personal who defeated the Mughals at the Battle of Saraighat.

Several dignitaries were present during this event including the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor and Deans of multiple departments of the university. Multiple officers of the Government of Assam were also present with the representatives of the hospitality and tourism industries of the state.
