One of the most anticipated sports events of the state of Assam is all set to flag off tomorrow. It will start with a cultural program in the premises of the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium.
All participants of the events including the players, coaches, referees and other officials will be present for the formal beginning of the competition. A host of young and old award winners, participants and players from various sports will also grace the gathering. The inauguration event will see the presence of several people from the Assamese entertainment industry. Lighting of the ceremonial torch which has traveled throughout the state will also be done. Oath taking by the players will also be done during the flag off event tomorrow.
Another key point about these games is that all administrative activities have been taken care online. Right from player registration to match timings and accommodation to meals will all be done via an application. Players will receive notifications regarding their matches via this application. Attendance of the players, officials and other members will be taken via their specially issued identity cards. Accommodation and transportation of all players and staff have also been arranged.
A total of 4117 youth are participating in 32 different events across 6 venues in the coming week. Out of them 2057 are boys and 1838 are girls supported by 368 coaches and 343 managers. 654 technical officials will be moderating and ensuring the successful conduct of these games. The age limits of players have been kept in accordance with the regulations of the national authority of the particular sport.
