Kokrajhar: Mega Entertainment conducted the auditions for the 20th edition of Sunsilk Serum Mega Miss North East and the 13th edition of Set Wet Mega Mister North East at Kokrajhar Commerce College on January 31. Through auditions at various locations, the organizers will select 50 candidates each for the pageants. These contestants from the eight northeastern states will then compete for the titles.
The judges for the Kokrajhar auditions included Halbree Boro, Asst. Executive Officer BTS Kokrajhar & Kokrajhar District BCAA Gen. Secretary; Sangeeta Basumatary, Reigning Mrs. Bodoland and Sonam Brahma Makeup & Beauty Coach & Promoter.
The organizers will conduct the next rounds of auditions in Kohima and Guwahati on February 3. Agartala on February 7, Shillong on February 10 and Gangtok on February 18. For Mega Mister North East, the dates remain the same, except for the Guwahati auditions on February 4. The organisers will also accept online applications for the contests. The grand finale for the men’s event will be on March 1 while the women’s will be on March 2 at ITA Machkowa.
Eliminating the conventional concept of runners-up, the organisers have announced that the top three contestants will collectively earn the titles for both pageants. This approach ensures that each victor holds an equal and significant position of honour. As they will have to prove their mettle to beat the remaining 47 contenders to their titles.
The three winners of the Mega Miss North East pageant will be awarded Rs 1,00,000 each. Meanwhile, the three winners of the Mega Mister North East will receive an award of Rs 50,000 each. The sponsors will also give them a shot at being brand ambassadors for Set Wet. They will also win travel opportunities and professional representation. Brand engagements, shoots and PR and reputation management will also be on their kitty.
