Guwahati Foodie and Child Friendly Guwahati celebrated Children’s Day with the students of Katahbari LP School in Guwahati.
Children’s Day in the country marks the birthday of the first Prime Minister of the country. It started as a day for children to have fun, play games and win prizes. But in the modern day it has become an occasion to promote child friendly environment in the country.
Guwahati Foodie is the largest food related community in the region. With more than 130000 members, this community has participants from all walks of life. The community often takes part in social activities ranging from relief measures during floods to distribution of saplings. Today also the community took part in the celebration of children’s day in the Katahbari LP School. Child Friendly Guwahati is the social outreach wing of Snehalaya, an initiative of the Don Bosco Society.
The school has students between the age of five and fifteen and they had some fun games and a good meal to celebrate the day. Almost all of these students come from economically marginalized backgrounds and this celebration was definitely a good time for them. Students and administration of the school thanked the organizers for conducting this event.
