Guwahati: The 4th edition of the trade and commerce show, North East Foodtech 2024 was flagged off for the public on January 25. Sanjive Narain, Chairman of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) formally inaugurated the event. Debojit Borah, President of the Tour Operator Association of Assam, Mriganka Hazarika, President of the Hotel & Restaurant Association of Assam, Chef Atul Lahkar, President of All Assam Restaurant Association and Zakir Hossain, Chief Convener of the event were also present. The four-day event is underway at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre from January 25 to 28.
Kolkata Foodtech in collaboration with the Hotel & Restaurant Association of Assam and the All Assam Restaurant Association has organised this four-day event.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjive Narain stressed the importance of having a premier B2B exhibition in the region and congratulated the organizers for setting up such a learning and sharing platform for the people involved in the bakery, hotel and food technology in the northeast. “North East Foodtech probably is the best thing that has happened for the hotel industry and the budding entrepreneurs of the state in recent days. It will establish direct contact between the manufacturers and the end users in the hospitality and food processing sector. Hotel & Restaurant Association feels proud to be associated with this initiative”, he said.
Around 90 reputed companies from all over the country are participating in North East Foodtech 2024. And the latest technology, services and products are for display at the event. The event itself aims to promote Assam as the right destination for investment in the food industry. The event has the presence of a number of national and local brands. It also has a special bakery conclave on the schedule to promote the bakery and confectionary sector of the region. The organisers are expecting the footfall of around 5000 businesses during the four-day event.
