The Lachit Ghat, on the banks of the Brahmaputra River will host the 2022 version of the Jeevan Kite River Festival. This year’s event will start from the 12th of February to the 16th.
The Kite River Festival aims to celebrate the majestic Brahmaputra river which is the lifeline of the region. The festival aims to attract attention towards the issues pertaining to river. It also tries to create new options and opinions towards the river tourism and how the natural resource can be utilized without causing any harm. It also aims to promote sustainability and undertake multiple river bank cleaning drives.
This year’s event will have a host of events. These will include the usual singing, dancing, kite flying and ethnic cuisines. Apart from these, open mic sessions, several panel discussion, crafts bazar and several sports and games. There will also be a short movie making and music video making competition. All these, and many more events will be hosted on the sandbank of the river this year.
This is the 11th version of the Jeevan Kite River Festival. Known fondly as the Sila Noi Festival will run for four days. The events will be hosted from 12 noon to 9 PM everyday for these days.
