The iconic Momo Ghar restaurant celebrated its 30th Anniversary on March 31. It organized Momo Day to commemorate the event. And hundreds of enthusiasts and guests visited the eatery throughout the day.
Momo Ghar, which opened its first outlet back in 1993. Inspired by the momos sold in Shillong at that time, the owner wanted to give Guwahatians a taste of it as well. And after so many years, it is a name known to a huge number of people. This eatery with a 30 year legacy is responsible for introducing this dish to Guwahatians.
Multiple events were organized as a part of the Momo Ghar’s Momo Day. Momo eating competitions were conducted like previous years. The first was a mukbang event with a time limit. And the participants had to eat as many momos as they could within a minute.
The second competition was the fastest eating competition. Each of the competitors were given a plate of momos of their choice. And the participant to finish the momos first was crowned the winner. The next competition was a momo making contest. The participants of the event made momos and brought them to the judges to try out and select the best one.
This was followed by a quiz and gifts were handed out to those who answered correctly. And an open mic session was the last attraction of this year’s Momo Day.
The owner Tapan Kumar Baruah thanked all the people for keeping his brand going for so many years. He also hinted at organizing a bigger event to commemorate the day next year. Popular actor Kenny Basumatary was also present for the event. He wished the brand even more success in the coming years.
